The Hillbirds are an alternative pop rock band from Barrie, Ontario, with strong female vocals, reminiscent of Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow.

"Their use of solo trumpet in a pop band is an electrifying and defining aspect of the music [...] On stage, The Hillbirds are a pleasure to watch and hear. The interplay between band members is appealing and one senses that audiences of all ages could easily gravitate to their songs and live shows." - Douglas McLean (The Huntsville Doppler)

In 2017, Husband and wife team Nick and Nicole Duquette started performing as a duo while they lived in France. After returning to Ontario, they became friends with musicians from their church which helped form their 5-piece band.

The Hillbirds have had a great run so far including performances opening for Craig Cardiff and The Trews at Barrie's 2020 NYE Downtown Countdown, The Algonquin Theatre (Huntsville) and other music festivals in Ontario.

The Hillbirds are working on their first studio album and look forward to sharing it with their supporters. Stay up to date with us on social media or visit us at: www.TheHillbirds.com

Our Individual Stories:

Nicole Duquette wrote her first song at the age of 13 and it was so good we still play it! She's been writing songs ever since and they just keep getting better, but songwriting is only half the package; Her remarkably strong and tasteful vocals will capture your attention and keep you wanting more.

Nick Duquette keeps busy on stage often switching between electric guitar, acoustic guitar, trumpet and backup vocals. He picked up music when he was around 11 years old and never gave it up. His experience in rock, ska, jazz and concert bands has helped him grow into a skilled and versatile musician who isn't afraid to try new things.
